Our half-day gastro adventure starts at 17:00 in front of your hotel where you will be welcomed by a licensed local tour guide. A comfortable air-conditioned minibus will take you to the small rural household in Trebinje, where a family of beekeepers preserves Herzegovinian tradition of honey producing. After a traditional welcome by our hosts, followed by a shot of rakia or a cold pressed juice, we will get protective equipment and visit beehives. Our hosts will explain the life circle of a bee, their system and behaviour, they will show us the inside of the beehive and we will learn how honey and other bee products are created. Afterwards we will taste their delicious honey. It is possible to buy packaged products directly from the producer.
After this pleasant visit, our minibus will take us to another rural household where a family produces cheeses and various dairy products. Here we will learn all about Herzegovinian cheese, how it is produced, stored and kept. This will not be an ordinary cheese tasting event. Instead, we will be served a traditional Herzegovinian dinner! Menu options can be arranged in advance. Or you can choose to be pleasantly surprised by our host's selection of traditional courses. We will end our dinner at 21:00. It is possible to buy packaged products directly from the producer.
After the dinner our minibus will take you back to your hotel.
